I am a counsellor offering long term support and short interventions to young people (13+), adults, couples and groups. I also work for two charities offering specialist support for addiction issues and with young people. I have worked in various counselling agencies and healthcare settings since 1998 and have a wide range of experience. I offer clinical supervision to trainee and experienced counsellors and other healthcare professionals. Before my counselling training I worked in accountancy.
I hold a post graduate diploma in Humanistic and Integrative Counselling from Bath Centre for Psychotherapy and Counselling. The integrative framework draws from various therapy approaches and the experiential training enables me to make a personal connection and to work in a way appropriate to your needs. I provide a safe environment to allow you to talk and think through your situation, explore and express your feelings and perhaps consider a new perspective, assisting you to make independent decisions.
I work with a variety of issues and my areas of experience include
Exploration and self development
Addictive behaviours
Relationship difficulties
Bereavement loss and grief
Depression & anxiety
Anger management
Eating disorders
Abuse
Coping with change
Low self confidence
Self harm
Stress management
Postnatal depression
I believe that we have the potential for personal growth and can gain a better understanding of ourselves by increasing our self awareness. I use a non directive creative approach to help you explore unconscious and past experiences which can impact on your life.
