About Me
My Background
My fascination with counselling started in 1998 when I became a volunteer taking calls on the Domestic Violence Helpline (as it was then). I was working part time running my accountancy business as well as being a new parent. I enjoyed the helpline work although it was challenging but sometimes I felt that I did not know the best way to respond to callers, particularly those in distress. I did not feel that I was skilled enough and I wanted to learn more.
I had enjoyed a successful career in Finance and Management prior to becoming a mum but my priorities changed. I realised that something was missing for me that balance sheets and accruals could not provide.
It did not take me long to become fascinated with the process of counselling and I still am. I am always delighted by the positive effect it can have and I have been privileged to witness clients positive change and improved quality of life.
I have a particular interest in supporting clients through life changes and whatever form that might take.
